Gallery: 2008 – February – Malcolms visiting
Time to start the BIG gallery push — 2008, here we come!
I’ve been slowly creating an index of photo albums on my site, embedding the photos that I have saved on Flickr. And now, it is time for what is the biggest “push” of all — the year 2008. For most years, I have a little over 12 albums, one for each month plus maybe 1 or 2 more for trips or weddings, etc.
2008 is quite different. We got married in 2008, and all the photos for the pre-wedding stuff, the actual wedding, the reception, and the honeymoon, well, it’s a handful. From 2004 to 2007, I had 1385, 2732, 2238 and 1112 photos per respective year to curate. For 2008? 6146.
The good news is that I’ve already curated the photos, so I’m just creating new albums. But whereas I normally have 12-15 albums, I have…wait for it…16 regular albums + 24 for the wedding + 15 for the honeymoon. I might be able to drop 1-2 in there that don’t need online versions, but 55 albums is a lot.
I’ll likely finish in November for the actual posting, but with the delayed social media “shares”, it could be done just before Christmas. 🙂 But wait, there’s more. Each of those big wedding and honeymoon albums also has BLOG posts that go with them that have to be redone to use the pics. Call it another 30-40 posts. Or finishing for posting in December and on social media somewhere around late February.
It was a memorable year, so I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

2007 – A year in 15 photos
February. Andrea went skating on the canal with her family.
March. Andrea went curling and did a trip to Pakistan.
May. Time for a long weekend at the cottage with baby Paige.
June. It was a busy month with Brian and Marnie’s 40th wedding anniversary (not shown), Marney’s retirement, and Andrea and I bought a house.
July. We took a trip out to the Luskville Falls.
August. Another long weekend at the cottage (no, everyone isn’t really into basketball, it’s part of an annual Malcolm Olympics tradition).
September. The knitting group at CIDA made a baby blanket for Noel, and Andrea took a group of international experts around the Maritimes on a study tour.
October. Time for Thanksgiving at the cottage with baby Paige livening things up, while Andrea did a trip to Athens and Pakistan.
November. I had a chance to do some HR interviews in Newfoundland this month, with some playing on the side.
December. Big snowfalls in Ottawa, but everything pales vs. Christmas in Peterborough with my mom (Nan and Liz shown).
